The city’s 19 nature parks offer a diverse experience of Florida outdoors, including creeks, trails, forests, lakes and more.
The Recreation Division operates multiple facilities and offers a wide variety of programs open to all residents. Facilities include seven recreation centers, three swimming pools, three skate parks and special activity areas such as basketball courts, ball fields, and tennis courts.
Alachua County operates the Fairgrounds and 21 parks offering a wide variety of sports, recreational and nature experiences.
Alachua County is fortunate to have 6 Florida State Parks including a rail trail, two National Natural Landmarks, a National Historic Landmark, a historic district, a geological state park, and two Preserves. Two additional state parks are just over the county line.
